It was quiet in the apartment when Bloodshed had returned and Warpath and Bonecrusher had left. Thornstriker had finally been able to change out her pajamas and into a casual shirt and a pair of jean shorts. Things were awkward in the house though, Bloodshed sitting on the couch with his hands in his lap as he looked at the floor. Thornstriker just sat in the large chair across from him, biting her bottom lip.

She opened her mouth to say something, but quickly went against it. She had no idea what to say to the man before her. He had been quiet ever since he got back and wouldn’t look at her. He seemed off and she wasn’t sure why. It was bothering her, but she knew how Bloodshed got when he was pestered about something he didn’t wish to share…

Still, she took a deep breath and settled her nerves. “Bloodshed?”

He slowly looked up at her with an unreadable expression.

“Are… Are you all right?”

He was silent for a few moments and nodded. “What about you?”

Thornstriker blinked. She hadn’t been expecting him to ask about her. But she gave him a nod. “I… I’m fine… Warpath is still my friend…”

The dark-skinned man nodded. While he wasn't exactly thrilled to know the relationship between her and Warpath had survived, he would simply accept it so long as she was happy. He knew that, like himself, Warpath was important to her... And she wanted the other to remain her friend.

"Is that-?"

"Hmm?"

"Is-" Thornstriker looked away for a moment towards the wall as she nibbled on her lower lip. "Is that... okay with you?"

Oh. She wanted to know if he didn't want her to be friends with Warpath anymore.

"... I'm okay with it. I mean, you two were friends long before we met. He was looking out for you long before I could."

That was the other thing that made the trainer more tolerable on some days. The man may have been a rival for Thornstriker's love and affection, but that also meant that if Bloodshed couldn't or had trouble helping or protecting her, he knew Warpath could handle it. He was strong enough to protect her and, Bloodshed would never admit it out loud, the trainer had a much cooler head than him in most scenarios. And in some cases, having a cool head would guarantee Thornstriker's safety better than jumping in with guns blazing.

"Are you sure-?"

"Thornstriker." He had to stop her from trying to put to much blame on herself. He could see that she was being hard on herself, not only for thinking she caused all this, but for also messing it up even more. "I'm fine. I may not... like Warpath, but I'm not angry that you're still friends with him. I may be your boyfriend..."

He had to pause; she may have chosen him, but it was still a heavy decision that still weighted on his mind.

"... But that doesn't mean I can control every part of your life. Warpath... while I can't stand him, he is someone who looks out for you and respects you. I can't tell you to not be friends with him just because I don't like him. I would only ever tell you to not be friends with someone if I thought they were out to use you or hurt you. That man would do neither of those things to you."

The petite woman looked down to her knees. While she understood what he was saying, she was still having some doubts about many other things.

"Please don't blame yourself."

"Huh? W-What?" She looked back up confused.

"…I know... you're still blaming yourself for last night. Don't."

"B-But I-"

"You were put into an uncomfortable situation that you were not experienced in. It's only because of him and I that you suggested what you did. We had... pushed you into coming up with such a... way to determine your love for me."

“B-But I… I should have been more levelheaded about it. I should have–”

“And I should have given you time to think about it. It’s like Bonecrusher said… I didn’t give you a chance to think and just jumped to the conclusion you would start sleeping with any man out there.”

She said nothing, looking down at her feet.

“I shouldn’t have just jumped to conclusions. If I hadn’t… This wouldn’t have happened.” He stood up and walked over to Thornstriker, kneeling down in front of her on the chair. “I’m the one who needs to apologize… I almost ruined your friendship with him. And while I may not like him… I know he means a lot to you.”

She bit her bottom lip, suddenly feeling guilty. She remembered that kiss she had shared with Warpath… It had meant a lot because it was signifying the end of Warpath’s chase for her. And it hurt her to think that she was causing him so much and she kissed him… Did that count as cheating? Had she done something stupid again? She swallowed, wanting to say something but unable to find the words. She didn’t want to say something that would hurt Bloodshed, but she knew hiding it would be worse.

“Thornstriker?” Bloodshed said, seeing how she had turned silent. “Are you okay?”

“Bloodshed… I…” Then the girl quickly silenced herself, not sure how to say it. She had to explain herself. She had to tell him the truth! She didn’t want him to think wrongly in case he ever found out some other way…

“Is something wrong?”

“I… I need to… tell you something.”

His eyes widened slightly. The tone in her voice made him swallow a growing lump in his throat, tensing up as he kneeled in front of her. Tell him something? What was she going to tell him? He suddenly feared that perhaps she was saying she changed her mind. That she didn’t love him… And only saw him as a friend…

“What is it?” he said softly, trying to keep his voice steady.

“Bloodshed… I…” Damn it, how was she going to get this out?! She didn’t want to hurt him or have him misunderstand. Swallowing, she tried to calm herself down and speak rationally. “Before Warpath left… He… told me he was… giving up. For good.”

Bloodshed said nothing, just staring at her with wide eyes as he let the words process. Warpath… was giving up. He honestly wasn’t sure what to think. To say it wasn’t something he had always wanted was a lie, but… He never expected that man to give up. But then again, this was probably the ultimate blow… Not that he was complaining.

But he remained silent, in case she had more to say. And by the way she was shifting in her seat and biting her bottom lip, he knew there was more to come from her.

“And… And he said… he wished to end his pursuit… with… a… k-kiss…”

Bloodshed’s eyes widened, entire body stiffening. A… kiss? He wanted to kiss her to end it all?! What the hell?! He had just fucked her the night before! Why did he need to kiss her?! But he wasn’t going to get mad… He needed to stay calm about this…

“Did you… let it happen?” he said, holding back his anger.

She bit her bottom lip, looking down at the hands in her lap. “I… I did…” she whimpered in a tiny voice, tears in her eyes. “I… It was only one…! O-One quick one…! A-And I di-didn’t want t-to hide it from you…! S-So I told you…! Pl-Please don’t hate me, pl-please, I-”

He never let her finish her sentence. He seized the sides of her face and pushed himself to press his lips on hers. She let out shocked cry, though it was muffled when his tongue pushed inside her mouth. Before she could physically react, his hands went from her cheeks to her arms, holding them tightly as he violently kissed her. Thornstriker whimpered and moaned against his lips, not sure what she as supposed to do.

She let out another cry as she was suddenly pulled forward. Bloodshed lied down on his back, bringing Thornstriker to lie on top of him. He did not break the kiss as he held her to his chest, his arms never moving from their hold on her back to press her tight against him. Despite being on the bottom, he still held control of the kiss as his tongue continued to map out the inside of her mouth.

The petite woman thought she was about to pass out. Whether from the pleasure she was receiving from her boyfriend's administrations or the lack of oxygen, she didn't know. But just as the darkness began to creep in from the corners of her eyes, Bloodshed broke the kiss. They both lied on the ground, collapsed in a heap of panting and sweaty bodies.

“Bl-Blood-MMM?!”

Before she could even ask him anything, he pressed his mouth on her again, rolling them over so that his body lied on top of hers. Her hands gripped at his shoulders, moaning as he continued to kiss her roughly, tongue attacking her oral cavity mercilessly. But he just held her to him, kissing her to the point where she began to struggle with her breathing once more.

She broke away from a moment, gasping for air as his lips attacked the side of her mouth. “Bl-Bloodshed…! C-Can’t bre-MMM!”

He just claimed her lips again, making her tremble beneath him. When his tongue pushed down into her mouth, her eyes widened as the brutal kiss only continued. Was he trying to suffocate her? Just what was he doing? But she could only hold onto him, trying to breath through her nose as he basically stole her breath away.

Finally, he showed her mercy and let her go. She flopped to the floor, panting hard and trembling. There were tears in the corners of her eyes from when she had started losing her breath and her lips were plump and red from the brutal kiss. Bloodshed just stared down at her, his hand at her cheek.

“Bl-Bloodshed…?” she whimpered, shivering when he stroked her cheek. “Bl-Bloodshed, I-I’m sorry, I knew you’d be upset… B-But please, I-”

He wiped a finger over her bottom lip. “Better.”

She blinked and looked up at him, eyes wide and confused.

“I know why you did it,” he murmured. “And I may not… like the fact that you two kissed… The only thing I can do is just make you forget his and only remember how I kiss.” He leaned down again, this time planting a soft peck on her plump lips.

Thornstriker gave a soft moan before his lips quickly withdrew from hers. Then she let out a small gasp as he gently grabbed her by the hips and brought her up as he sat up, sitting her down in his lap. She blushed, biting her bottom lip and burying her face into his warm chest as his arms wrapped around her.

"I don't hate you for doing it," he said softly, rubbing her back. "I could never hate you... You should know that by now."

"W-Well, still..." she mumbled softly. "I shouldn't be kissing anyone but you..."

"Thornstriker, you were banged by our neighbor and your best friend while I sat back and watched just last night. One kiss isn't going to make me angry."

The older woman's face reddened more, pressing more into his chest as a wave of guilt came over her. She still couldn't believe that she had been so stupid to hurt all three men in such a crude manner... She didn't know if she would ever be able to make up for it.

“You’re far too understanding about all of this…” Thornstriker mumbled into his chest. "I... I truly thought you would be more upset."

"... I'm not saying I'm happy about it. It's just... I don't feel like I have the right to get angry." When Thornstriker just stared at him, obviously confused by what he meant, he huffed. "Look... I almost just cost you your best friend. I doubted your feelings for me. I... I thought you to be with me out of pity and sex, even though I know you're not that sort of a person. I was just being... stupid. None of this would have happened if I hadn't let Warpath get to me like that."

"B-But I was the one who-"

"Then I should have just have talked with you about it calmly. I... jumped off the deep end and practically manipulated you into-"

Thornstriker pressed a hand over his mouth and shook her head. "No. You didn't. Don't say you did either... Please."

He shook his head and reached up, gently pulling her hand off of his mouth. He reached over and held her other hand, bending down and kissing the slender fingers. "But I did. I... pushed you into a corner. I said that you could prove your love to me by having sex with others... And that isn't true. I should know that better than anyone else."

"I... was the one who suggested it though. About sleeping with other men-"

"It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all. I should have just have talked to you. Privately. About the entire matter. Instead, I just... acted like some selfish brat." He hung his head, still holding her hands and giving them a gentle squeeze. "We can keep going about this in circles, but... I know what I did wrong. This was my fault... And... I'm sorry. I... I never wanted to hurt you. I'm... sorry..."

Thornstriker just stared at him for a few moments. Bloodshed... He was always putting her first. He was always putting her on such a high pedestal. Though she knew otherwise, she could do no wrong in his eyes. Only he was ever in the wrong. Only he saw things they both shared blame in as all his fault

"Bloodshed..." She leaned up and kissed his cheek, causing him to look up at her with wide eyes. She just smiled. "You didn't hurt me... And though it was overwhelming at first... I did... enjoy being with... all of you."

He huffed at the statement and when he saw her cheeks redden, but said nothing. He just buried his face into her neck, kissing her soft skin. She wrapped her arms around him and petted his back, comforting him as best as she could in her position.

“It’s not happening again though.”

Thornstriker couldn’t help but to give a soft chuckle. “I know. And I don’t want it to either.”

"Good. Because I won't be able to stop myself from killing anyone else who tries."

Thornstriker chuckled a little harder, shaking her head. "Bloodshed..."

But he gave a small smile when she continued to giggle, pulling her in for a soft kiss. Though while she thought it was a simple joke, he was only half-kidding. While he wouldn't kill anyone... He would no doubt try to break every bone in the man's body who tried to do anything to her. Thornstriker was his and he was her until she no longer wanted him.

Not wanting to think about the possibility of that happening though, Bloodshed pulled her in for a sweet kiss. He shivered when she moaned against his lips, making her kiss her harder. While he didn't know if she would ever grow tired of him, he was just happy being her choice for now.

And he could only pray he would be her only choice forever, as she was his.
